Do you compensate for your child’s allergies?

Do you compensate for your child’s allergies by letting them eat unhealthy foods?

Everyone seems to have a weak moment when their child is having a bad day and a donut seems like just the comfort food they need to feel content again. But, what about when your child is allergic to everything at Aunt Jane’s party – except the chocolate ice cream?

Is it ok for him/her to eat that for lunch?

I have been in this situation so many times, especially when we are out of town or was told there would be safe foods but there are none. Ice cream does have calcium, right? Well, lets see my choices are Fish stix( allergic) or nut soufflé(allergic) – Guess he is having ice cream for lunch; but he gets carrots for dessert tonight!
