Wash, Rinse, Repeat – A simple way to deal with Food Allergies

When was the last time you went to a NEW restuarant with someone with food allergies? Get a little nervous? Wonder if it is safe?  If it were up to me, I would love to go to the same 4 or 5 places to eat every time we went out. Why not ? We get in our comfort zones, we know that Coney #1 doesn’t make any food with NUTS in it at all and that mexican chain #2 has no  NUTS or FISH at all on the premises.

Of course this is NOT always so easy, we have to think of others sometime.  Are they sick of the same old places every Saturday for lunch?  I But, what is the correct compromise ?  Is it always about the Food Allergic individual? Or do other family members or friends get a choice ? As the worrier in the family, I say too bad; we go where I feel comfortable – Others can venture out to thrill their taste buds at a different time and place.

I believe the key is STANDARDS; and right now even though we still need to ask and put our FOOD ALLERGIES on the table for the restaraunt staff to know, at this time we need to stick with what is the most comfortable – even if we are doing it in our sleep.
